Victoria's Pool & Spa Registration Laws:
Stay Compliant with CODEHQ
Keeping your pool or spa safe and compliant with Victorian regulations is crucial. At CODEHQ, with over 30 years of experience in pool and spa permitting and inspections, we can help you navigate the legalities and ensure your backyard oasis meets all safety standards.
Victorian Pool Registration Requirements
Since December 2019, Victorian law mandates the registration of all pools and spas exceeding 30cm in depth. This includes permanent pools, spas, wading pools, and even some relocatable pools. Pool and spa owners are now required to have their safety barriers inspected regularly to obtain and lodge compliance certificates (Form 23) with their local Council.
You can contact your local council, or check their website for more information about how to register your pool or spa, including the fees payable in your area.
How it Works
- Register your Pool or Spa: Call your local Council or head to their website to register your pool or spa. Council will then provide you with a letter confirming the construction date or your pool/spa, and the applicable Australian Standard for your pool/spa safety barrier.
- Contact CODEHQ: Provide Council's letter to our team, make payment and book your inspection. You can start the process or make a query here -
Apply for Pool/Spa Barrier Inspection.
- Inspection: One of our registered inspectors will visit your property and assess your safety barrier for compliance with the relevant Australian Standard.
