In Victoria, retaining walls up to 1m in height that are not associated with building works may not need a Building Permit.
If the retaining wall is associated with the construction then it has to be included on the Building Permit regardless of the height.
If unsure, it's always best to contact us for clarification.
It is recommended to always check with a certified building surveyor prior to commencing any work to ensure that all the work being carried out is safe, and legal. Ensuring that you and your surroundings are safe is at the forefront of our priorities here at Code HQ. We're happy to provide genuine advice and clarify any information to ensure that you are aware of the specification required to fulfil your project.
